I was reading through Young Wizards #5: A Wizard’s Dilemma a little while ago, and I was got quite intrigued with the character named Pont (or what he can pronounce of it). Ever since I got the grasp of him from the book, I was eager to see him again in a further book. But, alas, so far that hasn’t happened.

Since there hasn’t been a glimpse of him (if that is actually applicable) since then, I got the urge to make a picture of him (though he isn’t one of the main characters).

The ability to make spheres / orbs is not new, nor is it that particularly hard to do (I believe). However, I didn’t want this image to be just like any other orb image, so I took some initiative to do a few things that were new, such as altering the ‘glair’ on the orbs, and the most noticeable addition of something that could be seen as ‘The Speech’ within the orbs (some).

NO, ‘The Speech’ is not real. It’s English words that have been put to a particular font called Zapfino. That font is really flowing, which is how ‘The Speech’ is seen, and I thought that font would work. However, I didn’t want to just use random letters that were flowing, so I actually typed something out, though what I typed is not going to be told (and no, it is not anything from the series).

Nie picture...*cheers geat computer drawer* I like how you put in the fake speach...and the coloring you used...overall it's quite good. though i wish you could have shown how they could join together more...i think they could...i don't remember exactly...

Wow...how beautiful! I sort of imagined the spheres to be the same size (either my limited imagination, or a misreading), but I like how they're different sizes.

That font - and my image of the Speech - reminds me a little of Elvish from Lord of the Rings.

Gibby, that is gorgeous! Pont are one of (or should I say five of) my favorite characters. I love when I see little metallic ball-bearing type things, because I immediately think of Pont and get the urge to run up and talk to it (them). I have no idea what it is that makes little metallic things appear cute, but something does...

And Blue's right, it does look like Elvish.

Yes, they ‘could’ join together (to put it loosely). From what I remember (I need to read it again), the orbs of Pont could combine then separate from time to time (as for why I don’t remember). However, I felt like just showing them in a rest sort of state, which tends to be five orbs all scattered around.

From what I read, they were different sizes. But like you said that could be versions of interpretation. I just got the image of five different sizes. And from what the ‘ErrantryWiki’ said, they ranged in sizes, so I stuck with that.

That is somewhat how I see The Speech when I read the books, but not exactly. I tend to see Elvish that is a little more flowing, more curving, more flowing. And the closest representation I had was that font, so I used it.
