Nita was definately looking at that Austalian kid at the end of WaW.

I'm a Nita/Kit fan. Somewhat cliche, but . . .
And Dairine/Roshaun. For them what really struck me was what Roshaun's mother said to Dairine near the end, that Roshaun had loved her. Also, when Dairine comes out of the hole in the virtual Timeheart and steps into her backyard . . .kind of funny that there would be connection between his home and her yard in his mind, right? (I'm guessing that "Timeheart" was reflecting that.)
We may see Roshaun again yet. I'm gonna miss him, especially his arguing with Dairine!

Where does Roshaun's mother say that? I can only find where Dairine tells Roshaun's parents that he loved them, and would have wanted them to know that.

I think it's Nelaid, actually. And he doesn't really specifically say that Roshaun loved Dairine, but he says something along the lines of "he...was very fond of/respectful" of her. I believe.

Dang. I don't have the book with me.

Ah! I just reread WaW, and I found myself a new coupling! Darryl/Nguyet all the way! Don't ask how I came to support them, but I like it. Poor Darryl needs some coupling love, too. <3

Nita/Kit- Meh, I've never really been anything about Nita/Kit besides the "they're just friends" reaction to all of it in the other books, and W@W didn't change anything.

Dairine/Roshaun- I thought I didn't ship YW at all. W@W, though, was like having a stack of books dropped on my head. Dairine/Roshaun. Yes. XD

Darryl/Nguyet- Um, no. For that matter, Darryl/anyone is just... no. If Dairine and Roshaun agreed they're too young, and Darryl's younger than Dairine (I think)... no.

Nelaid/Miril- Because it's like shipping Betty/Harry, I guess, only Miril's not dead. Yeah, sure, this is a good ship for me.

Ronan/Carmela- It seems kind of one-sided to me. As in, Carmela's all "ahh he's hot" fangirlish and Ronan is like, "whatever. Go away now?" kinda annoyed.

Well, Nita and Kit hugged "... a hug calculated to be twice as emphatic as any she'd given anybody else."

Hey, if you're counting Nelaid/Miril, and almost Betty/Harry, you have to count Juan/Marina, too. And Helena/someone we've never seen, too.

I think there's somehting important we missed here. Now going back a few pages to K/N stuff, I remembered that Kit kind of "accidentally over-heard" Nita's kiss. Now, if you think about that, unless he can learn to control that, they're both going to have a problem because if she gets a boyfriend (not saying that she will anytime soon), she won't want him "over-hearing" her. It would kind of be like an extra parent, you know? And what if Neets ends up doing the same thing? It gets even more complicated!! So either Kit attempts to comtrol what he can hear, Nita tries not to let his thoughts get in (which could be very dangerous if someone's in trouble), or they'd have to get together themselves!

I like the last one, can you tell?

OMG when I read Wizard's Holiday I was all like I hate Roshaun, and Dairine better not fall for him but not to far into WAW I was all like will those to just admit it already! And Dairine will so find Roshaun and they can live happily ever after on Earth (as the sunstone is now tuned to Earth's sun). Roshaun is not dead Dairine went to Timeheart and he wasn't there so he isn't dead becuase if your dead the rule is you in Timeheart.

As for Kit/Nita can we just like lock them in a closet until they admit their feelings for each other? I mean come on there were hints in Deep Wizardry when Kit was prepared to die for Nita and then the whole skirt comment in Dilemma and then how jealous he was in Wizard Abroad of Ronan, then Nita finding the whole thing about permanent partnership and freaking in I believe Wizard's Dilemma. And WAW was another story altogether, so how can Kita and Nita not end up together.

Ever since they were arguing, I thought Dairine and Roshaun would become good friends. Otherwise, there would be no point in emphasizing their arguing. As for them getting together, I like the idea, though they are kind of young. Being a wizard gives you an added level of maturity, though, so if it does happen, it wouldn't sound to childish.

As for Kit and Nita, well, I'd rather it be Kit/Nita rather than Kit/anyone else or Nita/anyone else. I wouldn't mind if they stayed just good friends, and didn't get into a relationship with anyone, but I doubt that'll happen. I just think that if Kit and Nita get into a relationship with anyone else, they wouldn't be quite as close anymore. Plus, there's the issue that Kit can tell when Nita's interacting physically (kiss or whatever) with another boy.

It was HW, when Nita was sitting on the Moon waiting for Kit and reading the Manual to find out why she and Kit don't hear each other think so often any more, that she read about permanent partnership.

Later in that book, at the Crossings, they had the conversation about what happened in DW:
"Look,' she said, 'I didn't do it for you "a bit", I did it for you "pretty much".'
Kit replies
'So,' and her voice stuck again, and she had to clear her throat to unstick it. 'I like you, that's all. A lot. And if you start liking somebody that much, well, I still want to keep the team going. If you do. That's all.'

So wouldn't what Nita said "I like you Kit....etc" basically be her admitting that she likes him? Well, at that time anyways before Ronan came in....

Has nobody else thought anything twice 'bout this? o.O The only thing i keep hearing is what Nita found in the manual 'bout 'permanent partnership'.

Umm... he never actually said he was jealous but if I remember correctly he's never ever been too pleased with Nita and Ronan being friends. I mean that's a class one sign of jealousy. I don't know I just got that idea. And it was in High Wizardry in the Crossing that was on of my fave parts.

But in WAW it's Kit that invites Ronan over, and Nita who doesn't know anything about it.
That doesn't sound like the action of someone who is jealous of Ronan.

Um yeah true PM but maybe he knew they would need the help of Ronan because he did have the One's Champion in his head so that could have been letting the wizardry part of his brain take control.

I agree with catlover, I still think that Kit might have a teensy problem with Ronan, thinking back to, "You kissed him." which kind of makes me think that because he only brought it up now, that he is sort of still jealous. *reads over post*

That doesn't really make sense. AARGH! Oh well, I suppose what I wanted to say is that I think he is still the tiniest bit jealous but is sort of finding it hard to admit it.

I'm all for the locking them in a closet thing but there's just one teensy problem.... they're both wizards. And if they weren't there wouldn't be a book and we wouldn't be discussing this. We need some way to make them stay there. Grrrr....

I think there might be a couple of reasons that Nita and Kit have not developed a really active romantic relationship. Number one, they are just too doggone busy saving the universe. And the message there, might be that (as much as we all love romance) there are other important aspects of life. Number two, maybe there are other colors and shadings of relationships that are valuable besides romantic ones. So many posts have talked about the value we put on their strong friendship.

Of course, romance always adds a nice spice to life. If Nita or Kit are to develop a romance with anyone, it will be each other. However, I love how Nita is the one who doesn't put up with Ronan's grim facade. Carmela would no doubt also be up to the task of dealing with Ronan. And I love Tom and Carl's subtle but strong relationship - we can kind of read into that anything we want to.
