O’ clouds above so high and lofty
Let the rain pour, and splash the earth softly
Wash away all the unsought things so small
But lo, let thou thunder be heard by all
Let thou lightning smite from heaven to hell
Perceive yonder ringing of the Captain’s bell

Thou Great ship holds our once sought plunder
Ears deafened by storms loud thunder
Thou Captain’s face, saddened and blank
At the moaning sound from the starboard flank
Hearken thou thunder, its pause not brief
Our men on deck sodden with grief

God of thunder, god of rain
Seize the earth, convince it tame
Alas the horizon unveiled by the mast
The storm has eventually come to pass
Many a man wounded or lame
The Rouge Power’s vengeance, ended in vain

It wakes one’s soul
Deprives one’s thought
The last clouds fade in the sky to naught
But many a thought dwell on the One
As the last tears roll down from the heavens above
The storms end is signaled by the flight of a dove

She turned away
scared and numb
there was no reason to stay
so she started to run

She felt no sadness
only fear, lonliness, and despair,
emptiness and helplessness
but she didn't really care

about tommorow or yesterday
she just wanted to get away

to run away forever
to hide from the world
rather than suffer this endeavor
she'd leave the life she knew for good

and as she was running
she couldn't help but think
so she stopped to ponder
and take a drink

and as she took out her bottle
out came instead
a picture of her parents
gone, deceased, dead

This didn't have to happen, she thought
If only the people that hit them had been taught
that DUI
costs a life or two
theyd've been more careful
if only they knew

So she spent her life
spreading the word
and she remembered her parents
and that inspired her

And she thinks of the lives
that could be saved
and she thinks of the difference
that she has made
and now she is glad
that she didn't run away

I have to say that I am just the author in some of these poems I am NOT the person who has the problem or whatever

Scared
By: Melissa Paquin

Screeching though the night
Trying to find the light
Footsteps following me
Crunching on the tree limbs they see
No time to be stealthy
There going to find me and get wealthy
Screaming out my name
The closer they came
Sweating, Coughing, Dreading, and Stinky to
My legs feel like Jello, I don’t know what to do
I pierced my foot on a long rusty old nail
They set a fire so now I’m trapped, and set a fire to a fox’s tail
They obliterate my house and cat
"No" I shrieked, I saw a thing flying about, it was a bat
"Why Me?" I tried to say but my throat hurt so much
Can’t move fire scolding hot
I think I might die and rot

To My Death
By: Melissa Paquin

Clouds above me a shallow ragged cliff below me
How will I know what comes out of it
If I fall I will die, If I don’t I will stay alive
I hear people’s voices around me saying, "It’s all good" But is it?
I see my mother sitting in her chair sewing needle in hand
What will I do?
Will I stay or will I go?
I can’t make up my mind
I just might do it, Can I do it?
What will my friends say, "Nita Who?"
That’s what they would say
I will do it just to make them happy
So I Fall
Fall
Fall
Down to my Death.

Why Me?
By: Melissa Paquin

Why did I have to get it?
Why is it that I always get something that hurts and sometimes kills?
Why do I have it when no one else in my family has it?
Why do I have to deal with it?
You would never know by looking at me that I have it
Most of the time I have to sit on the side lines and watch others play
Can you believe it that I have it and you don’t
I am more beautiful because of it
I am smarter because of it
Now more then ever I know why I have it
It makes me tolerant of pain
When I was little I dislocated my hip, so now I can’t feel much of the pain
But why did I have to get it?
Don’t you wish that you had it now?
I wish that you could take it away
Let me think about that for a minute.. NO I won’t let it go
I love my Lupus till death do us part

That's all for now you want more ask if you don't OH well for you Razz

but they share the same sky-
one sky, one destiny."

Okay those were all really good Lissa. But they were all kind of on sad topics. Anyways most poems and songs are on sad topics, uplifting topics, or topics most people really shouldn't talk about. Smile
I think you' ve inspired me to write a poem. I'm going to try to write a good one.

Always and Never
By: Melissa Paquin

I never liked you in the first place
I never to your see the stars with you
I always have loved the stars

I never have flown on a star
I always have loved your hair
I never liked you in the first place

I always have loved you
I never have seen your face before
I always have loved the stars

I never got to say I love you
I always got to see you
I never liked you in the first place

I always loved your lips
I never liked the sun
I always have loved the stars

I always have loved you
I always have loved to read
I never liked you in the first place
I always have loved the stars

Happy poems...i have a few love poems but i think i can write a happy poem!

Simply Love

From the moment our eyes met
With myself I made a bet
A bet that we would never grow apart
And so for you I have a special place in my heart
And this is where the end begins to start

If love could be spelled more simply
Its uses would be rendered wimpy
And to each other we would never be known
But here, and now the true way will be shown
Forevermore…

A Message in a Bottle

A message in a bottle, floating near the shore
As a family ‘round a campfire, told tales of ancient lore
A lonely girl who’s hair was fine and eyes so very pretty
Found that little message in a bottle very quickly
She read it to herself, and then read it to the world
And its message stayed the same even though the page had curled
Her eyes began to water and her vision began to blur
Because that little message proclaimed the love I had for her.

What is Love?

What is love you ask?
Love is a painstaking task
Love brings joy, and sheds a tear
Love brings faith, and blurs all fear
Love is long, and love can last
Love is our future, and our past
Love is a word we say, and feel.
Love is here, and love is now
To its power, you must bow
It sooths our hate
And gentles our fear
I will wait for your love right here

Wel i have a few more love poems i wold like to write bu i also like magical poems.

These poems do as the song say.."this one goes out to the one i love"

Ok i got one fresh of my brain...it id kinda happy and it is about books so that is good to!
Grood...uh...I mean good...and great...good and great.....i'm gonna go now.....i guess....

A Library

Rains drumming on a window in a library near the shore,
With books and stories to be read, it makes you want some more.
Authors new and long forgotten line the steep book shelves,
Let’s read a book, a poem or two and see just what it says.
Tales of love and Courage true give and adventure we all love.
When you finish a book to its own delight, you feel the day is done,
But come back tomorrow and you can have more fun!

Duncan. Love is where you stop saying I and start saying We. Anyways, I think people really enjoy love poems and stories and movies because they imagine themselves that way. Seriously don't you really think about it after you read a novel?

hmm... your styles are all very different than mine. ^^

...makes you wonder
what's real
what's not.
you stare at her
at him
at them
you've known them forever
(or so it seems)
and yet
what's real?
doesn't seem like I know anything
about him
her
you
do I?
are you the person I think you are
or just another masquerade?
am I the person you think I am?
or am I too, another masquerade?
who are we
really?

Hmm... And here's one just written on the spot... inspired mostly by something Alastair told me once...

Look down
What do you see?
Space
the ground looks so far away...
So far away...
what would it feel like
to jump?
and know
you don't have to worry anymore
care anymore
cry anymore
in that last half-inch.
you can close your eyes
sigh
and say goodbye.

...we were talking about the grand canyon at the time...

Hmm, Alastair-kun writes awesome stuff. I've read a couple of his love poems... they're complete opposites, but they're beautiful... part of the appeal is that he wrote them in french.

And so you know- Poetry.com is like a huge scam. they do everything they say they do, but it means nothing.

Going so Old School for this, but it's one of my favorites.

Sarah's Contemplation
by Elizabeth

A life spent in misery?
A life spent in a gilded cage?
I can not chose.

Tormented in spirit
and troubled in my heart
my restless soul's at war in my breast-
there is no peace for me.
Those golden days of my childhood
have abandoned me
to the harsh realities of the adult world,
its play of cruel conflicts.
Life doesn't have to be this way;
I remember feeling at peace with you.
Take me
once again into your arms.
Within the charmed ring,
the circle of your arms enfolding
me drawling me into you
forever, I will be at peace.

Jumping at shadows
living my life in doubt
uncertain of what lies ahead-
I'm anxious all the time.
When I was younger I went headfirst,
reckless, into danger.
Now that I've grown in my experiences
I have learned to dread.
Life doesn't have to be this way ;
I remember feeling safe with you.
Hold me close,
keep me sheltered from the world
With me held by your side,
the power of your will protecting
me, holding off sorrow
forever, I will fear nothing.

I live without my dreams
in a practical existence
of plain black and white
with no shades in between.
As a child my imagination
could take me anywhere.
Now it's gone, stranded me
in the physical world.
Life doesn't have to be this way;
I remember living out my dreams with you.
Resurrect my dreams
offer them anew.
Within your eternity,
the magic of your world consuming
me and keeping me child-like
forever, I will dream again.

Writhing in shame
embarrassed by what I've said
or things done so carelessly
I wish I could be free of their memory.
In the days of my daring youth
I never pondered consequences.
Now all grown up I have to consider
just what could happen next.
Life doesn't half to be this way;
I remember nothing with you.
Make me forget
take the memories from me.
With you always in my mind,
the oblivion of your thoughts engulfing
me sucking me under
forever, I will forget.

A life spent in misery?
A life spent in a gilded cage?
I can not chose.

All that's left for me is Death...

My poetry sucks, I wrote a poem in school today about how evil Neopets is and how it takes over little siblings' minds. My teacher loved it but it was so stupid!
